DivingTravel Tips
The post-monsoon snorkel window — three quiet weeks in November.
By the time the SW monsoon clears in early November, plankton lingers and pelagics chase it. The reefs are emptier than they'll be in two months. Why we book this window for return clients.
Mid-November is one of the best-kept calendar windows in the Maldives. The southwest monsoon has cleared enough to give you 20–25m visibility, but the plankton residue from October is still pulling pelagics into the channels. And almost nobody's there yet — the high season doesn't start in earnest until the end of the month.
What to book
Lhaviyani or Raa for reef wall dives, with a side trip down to Baa for the last manta cleaning-station weeks. Skip South Ari unless your only reason for coming is whale sharks — they're back but sporadic until December.
